Measured on site.Defined on record.

Petra Point Survey Services is a surveying company based in Dubai, working across the United Arab Emirates. We produce the measured record that lets a development be registered, sold and handed over, from site control and 3D laser scanning through to authority submission.

Between a building and its registered record, there is a survey.

Nothing in Dubai gets sold off-plan, titled, or handed over on the strength of a drawing alone. It gets there on a measured record that a specific authority has accepted, in a specific format, against specific areas. That record is what we make.

A
Made for the authority that receives it
A survey is not finished when the measuring stops. It is finished when the receiving authority has what it needs, in the form it expects. We work backwards from that.
B
Measured, not inherited
Areas come from the building, not from the design set. Where the two disagree, and on a completed tower they usually do, the measurement is what gets registered.
C
One file, followed through
Scanning, drawing, submission and resubmission sit with the same team. Queries do not get handed between three consultants who each blame the last one.

05Coverage

Every jurisdiction sets its own requirements.

Petra Point works across the United Arab Emirates. A file that clears in one emirate is not the file the next one expects, and knowing the difference is most of the work.

Precision before the first cut.

Petra Point is named for Petra in Jordan, where the Nabataeans cut tombs and temple facades directly into the sandstone. Stone that is removed does not come back, so the geometry had to be settled in advance.

Two thousand years of weather have worn the surfaces. The cuts are still in the positions they were given. A survey record is not carved, but it is relied on the same way: once it is registered, sale, title and handover all rest on it being right.

iPermanence
A boundary has to outlast whoever set it. Petra’s rock-cut facades are still legible after two thousand years because their position was fixed in the cliff itself. A registered record has to hold the same way.
iiSubtraction
Carving only removes. A misjudged cut cannot be filled in and tried again, so the geometry has to be resolved before the work starts. A measured area is the same: taken from what is already there, and expected to be right first time.
iiiDifficult ground
Petra sits in terrain with almost no surface water and a gorge that floods. The Nabataeans answered it with dams, graded channels and cisterns. The tools have changed. The requirement has not: understand the ground before committing to it.
